Braxton was raised in San Angelo, Tx. At the age of 14, Braxton was saved by grace through faith in Christ. Braxton was a youth at Lifepoint Baptist Church and married Becca at Lifepoint in 2010. The Lord in his grace has given Braxton and Becca 3 amazing children: Micaiah, Asher and Adoniah. Braxton and Becca seek to glorify Christ in raising their children.
Braxton and Becca moved to Fort Worth in 2010 to attend the college at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. While there, Braxton served as a Youth Ministry Associate at First Baptist Church in Burleson, Texas. It was during this time that the Lord gave them a deep desire to see the church grow in its love for Christ. After graduating in 2014 with his BS in Biblical Studies, the Gilbert’s moved to Christoval Baptist Church where Braxton served as Youth Minister until 2019.
Braxton and Becca again joined Lifepoint Baptist Church in April, 2019, and the church called him as Associate Pastor in July, 2020. Braxton considers it an immense joy to serve the church in which he spent his youth and part of his adulthood.

Jay enjoys fly fishing, fly tying, reading, and spending time with his family. Jay’s greatest joy is to see the redemptive work of Christ flourishing in the local church. It is Christ’s daily redemptive work in Jay’s own life that fuels this joy. As promised, God is using the local church today to rescue individuals, marriages, and families. As we yield to Christ He never fails to restore. How AWESOME!!!
